Bathroom remodels

What to expect

Either going online for ideas of hiring someone to help with your design , we need a game plan on what materials and how you want your new bathroom to look and function. A few things to be think about before you jump into a bathroom remodel.

  • Shower
  • Tub
  • Vanity
  • Countertops
  • Sinks and Faucets
  • New toilet
  • Light Fixtures
  • Mirrors
  • Floor
  • Layout if your wanting to remove a tub or expand a

Shower

The shower is usually the biggest part of the job on a bathroom remodel.  A Lot of planning can go into a shower due to all the different features and materials. Ill give you a quick run down from start to finish on what you may run across during your bathroom remodel.

  1. If wanting a bigger shower sometimes taking out or moving a wall is the only option. if this is the case this is the first step.
  2.  Depending on how much bigger you want to go, moving your drain may be the next step.
  3. Changing and possibly moving your shower falve and head.
  4. Installing shower pan. In my opinion its the most important part. If  done wrong it may lead to a leak under your shower and can possibly lead to redoing the entire shower. So don't skimp out on the pan.
  5. Installing a curb or going curbless.
  6. Installing bench or soap niche.
  7. Waterproofing walls and any areas that will be getting wet.
  8. Start laying tile.
  9. Gout and then seal.
  10. Glass. You can choose a framed or framless. Glass types included clear, rain. or frosted. You can also choose hardware color.

Tub

Bathtubs come various lengths and sizes. Your most common wall to wall tubs are usually a 60in. and come in different depths and shapes.  If you have a drop in tub or freestanding tub you have a few more options to choose from.  Like jets,  widths, lengths,  and so forth.  Besides the size and style of the tub the other things to consider is where your drain hole is and where your faucet will go if you have one mounted on tub.

Vanity

Choosing a vanity can go a few different ways. Not all bathroom's can fit a  premade vanity and sometime we have to make our own. However to me online is good place to begin looking if your vanity is small enough to ship. If your on a tight budget we know of a couple spots you can get a good deal at or even get some premades from our local cabinet distributor.  Sometimes you can get a countertop with your vanity or if you want something specific we can always use our countertop people we work with.
