Kitchen remodels

After we come out to assess your job, here is what to expect before we get started.

  1. Do we need a interior designer?  We can show you the latest cabinet styles or show you the most popular color schemes but at the end of the day we are just a construction company.  Even with all the ideas you can get online hiring a professional can relieve you from a lot of the headache while choosing different designs, styles or colors.
  2. Electrical, plumbing or framing. These are important things to consider if making changes to your kitchen.  If expanding a wall or moving plugs and drains are in the scope of work,  it could possibly have a major impact on the final cost of the project.
  3. If you want to go without a designer.  Not trying to put you to work but we need to know what exactly you want that way we know what to put in your kitchen.  We can provide you our favorite places to shop but flooring, cabinets, faucets, light fixtures, paint colors, countertops... are all things you need to have picked out before we install. Once you pick what you want  we will handle the rest as far as sizes and quantity. If any changes are made with cabinet layouts or material types we will be sure to address any concerns that may lead to problems in the future.
  4. Structural engineer.  You heard me mention before, framing or structural changes can play a big role in your kitchen remodel.  If we expand a wall to extreme lengths or raise your ceiling it's important to do so properly. In some cases we will ask for a structural engineer  to come out first to give us a good guideline on what beam size or rafter type is best for our situation.

Cabinets

There are pretty much three ways to go about cabinets.

  • Pre mades. The most valuable way. You go to our cabinet distributor check out the showroom and choose from about 10 styles of the most popular cabinets that are painted in the most popular colors.
  • Custom.  Most expensive way. You show us what you want and we make them.  If you have a idea where we cant fine it in a premade we build it ourselves. cost is higher because custom cabinets are not massed produced so manufacturing time is longer.
  • Painted pre mades.  Best of both worlds. You like a certain style from the cabinet distributor but want a custom color.  So after we install we paint them.

Flooring

  • Tile is the most common flooring material in kitchens.  As far as durability and looks it will out last and age the best compared to most products. Tile prices have a wide rang but even with the cheapest tile installing is time consuming making tle one of the most expensive materials to go with.
  •  Vinyl and laminate planks are very common nowadays offering a waterproof barrier and being easier to install.  This is the most cost efficient flooring to lay .
  • Hardwood is in my opinion can be a beautiful way to go but can be on the more expensive side once finished properly.
  • Concrete is getting more and more popular. With new staining ideas everyday you can sill have that luxury look with the durability of cement. However we do not specialize in concrete staining we do know someone that does.

Countertops

  • Natural stone. If you decide to go with a natural stone you will need to take a look at what they have at one of the countertop companies we work with. They carry hundreds of pieces "slabs"  that have a wide range of prices. If your on a budget ask to see the remnant pieces and  they may be able to save you some money.
  • Engineered stone. You get the same stone look with a cheaper price. Our countertop companies both carry engineered stone.
  • Laminate. The most affordable countertop that we do ourselves. Homedepot or lowes both carry laminate sheets and pre-made tops that we cut to fit your kitchen.
  • Wood. Butcher block is gaining popularity. It does look good but does require maintenance.

Entire Kitchen done by us.

This kitchen is special to me because it belongs in the house i grew up in. Also something unusual about this kitchen remodel is that we made made the countertops and all the cabinets on this project.
